catch up

I feel like I need to play catch up with school right now :[ AP testing is creeping up slowly and I've never taken one O___O Also most UC results have come out. I got denied from UCSD and I guess it's not TOO surprising, but I some of the people that did get in are like "WTF?" So I'm wondering where I went wrong. I don't know what to post here right now, but I know I have to play catch up with my posts also.

nails of last week:
I actually took these pictures like three or four days after I painted my nails. They held up pretty good considering I also worked that week (thinking lots of contact with water). This is the dark blue color from the skin food nail polishes. I really like it, it dries fast and the color comes out true to the bottle with two thin coats. I put on at least four layers every time I paint nails because I do base, two colors, and a top coat. These tried a lot faster than any of the nail polishes I have tried. So I'm happy :]

----------------------------------------------
So I've tried the both the BB creams. I don't know if I should do a formal review or not, but here is my two cents:

COVERQUEEN:
I wasn't able to find a picture of it online and I don't feel like taking another pictures. It's not worth the effort. I figured that this was going to be crappier than the L'egere just by the packaging but I didn't think it would be that bad. This BB cream has a much more powdery finish. When I first put it on my face was unnaturally white, more of a gray undertone to it. I think because I'm not very very pale so this isn't very suitable for me, but maybe I'll try this again when my skin is less dry. However I had my mom try it and it didn't look to bad on her, so maybe if I was paler it would work out more? The cream did seem to oxidize to my shade after a few hours...but that's way to inconvenient to use daily.
L'EGERE:I know this is one of the most popular of the BB creams and I can see why. I like this one A LOT. The color out of the tube is a skin colored, but when spread it becomes a little lighter. A little light on my face, but then it seems to disappear after setting. The coverage I'd say is medium, it hides all my pores and most my scars. It does a pretty good job at covering most the redness, but my face is pretty bad so I'm not surprised that there's still some redness visible. It looks very natural and I'm sure if my face was clearer it would be glowy. When I touch my face with it on it feels softer and not drying like the other one. Must try, however i think it is a bit pricey via online retailers (Guess they have to make some profit, right?) because my cousin got it for about $15USD tops.

The Japanese exchange students weren't able to come to West Covina this year because of economy and Beeken was planning on cancelling the program altogether. I'm happy because the advisor from Japan wants the program to continue, even though there's some difficulties with the economy. Also they may allow us to go this year, which makes me even happier because at first even if the program continued the trip was cancelled. Now I have a chance again and all the saving won't go to waste! I think I will finish this post off with pictures of the puppies.
There's two more but I don't feel like getting that from my camera right now. Aren't they cuties :]

love from taiwan

my cousin just came back from taiwan recently and got me some stuff :] I asked her to bring me back the l'egere BB cream. I have yet to try it though. We were also talking about skinfood so she got me some random stuff from there. I can't wait to try these everything out. She also brought back some food, clothes, and earrings.

Heres the beauty related things I've been talking about. There are the skinfood nail polishes. It's a red glitter, yellow, and grey blue. I'll do swatches if anyone wants them (haha what readers?). The L'egere BB cream came with a moisture anti-aging serum. It has gold flakes in it! I don't think I'll be using this, but it seems so luxurious. Then my cousin got me a two-pack of Coverqueen BB cream. I've never heard of this, but it looks cheap compared the the L'egere so I'll probably end up trying it first.

no flash

She brought back some little souveniours from her short stop in Hawaii. I'm digging the earrings because I have a necklace that my other friend got from Hawaii with the same ones.

earring from Taiwan! I love the little gold crown ones. I think I like most jewelry that has any kind of 3d crown on it. The red ones are tiny, I feel like they will come off when I wear them, but they're cute. I think the little fairy ones are nice looking but it reminds me of Tinkerbell and I'm not very fond of her. They're pretty heavy too, so I'll be the only one in the house that even wears them.

Pineapple cake! I haven't had these in awhile because the Hong Kong Supermarkets have closed. The outside of the box

inside with flash

inside without
I love how the packaging is so nice. Makes the cakes seem even more delicious. I think that's just me dellusional after a nap though.

花生老
I wasn't quite sure what this was when my mother offered it to me, but I like it. The label at the bottom said "peanut old" directly translated it. I've never had these before but theyr'e good.
My cousin also gave us some clothes. I'm not sure if she bought them in Taiwan for us or if she bought them in Taiwan for herself awhile ago and can't fit them anymore. Some of them are cute :) I just have to figure out how to make them fit, because even pre-prego for her she was still bigger than us. This is probably my favorite one, I want to come up with an outfit for it >D

I like strips, but this looks like it will be too short on me

This is cute, really long though. Maybe something I would pair with a belt.

This one my sister said she was able to put a pillow underneath while wearing it and made herself look pregnant, so I don't know if I can do much with it.

I think I'll do some post with the clothes (if I can come up with anything decent) and update one the products I got.

hospital

Well this will be a pictureless post. So Saturday night my friend Ruby got into a car accident and I found out about it Sunday evening. When I first heard I was VERY sad. It was really scary hearing about it, but Janine had already gone to visit her and said she was alright. Even though she reassured me that she's doing fine it still made me sad and I cried a bit thinking about it. I think I was so scared because a classmate's older brother died earlier this school year from a situation similar to the one that Ruby was in.

I didn't know the details until I visited her today. This is the second time I've actually gone to the hospital. Both times visiting someone, but last time it was with a friend to visit her father. This time I was actually visiting because someone I care about was there. Ruby is still in the hospital right now :[ She was coming back from Disneyland with her boyfriend and boyfriend's older brother. It was past midnight so I guess everyone was tired and her boyfriend's older brother fell asleep at the wheel (everyone else was also asleep). It sucks though, because Ruby got it the worse. Both her boyfriend and his older brother were out of the hospital on Sunday.

When I went today it was very sad seeing her on the bed. It wasn't too bad at first, we talked and hugged. She also had a nintendo 64 to play so we did that together for a little until she started to eat. After eating a bit she got up to use the restroom and that's what made me sad. She fractured her ribs and back, had bruised lungs, and legs were pretty bruised up also. So when she got up she was struggling in so much pain even with a walker. While she came out of the restroom her boyfriend also came into the hospital room and we talked for a little. I got up to help Ruby while lover and her boyfriend talked. Ruby struggled to get back onto the bed and even though she was in so much pain I know she was trying to be strong. Lover and I had to leave so we hugged her and left.

I am tired right now because we went to Irvine and found out we were at the wrong place, so we spent an hour or so trying to figure out how to get to the UCI Medical Center. It's not even IN Irvine, it's in Orange (the city). By the time I got back home it was around 7:41pm and I didn't get the chance to practice driving, again. I suppose it was worth it though, I got to see her. I'm taking my driving test next Monday, a day before Ruby's 18th birthday. I'm hoping I can pass and we can do something even if she's still stuck in a bed. I just wanted to share a bit about that, not that a lot of people actually read this. It's just scary how easily things like this can happen and how lucky we are if people are able to stay in our lives. I'm a bit angry at her boyfriend's brother, but I'm happier she's still alive.
